Interestingly, Falkirk had a bit of a Carrick deal (no, not that deal) with Syd - they also signed up his not so good brother, Len.

KLM: Syd Puddefoot was born in Bow and played for England twice.
He did move to Falkirk after us, before rejoining us some years later, from Blackburn.

Sadly, the world's two shortest centre backs in 2014 (both around 5'7"), Uriel Alvarez and Markus Ballmerz, have both changed positions, Alvarez to right back and Ballmerz to midfield.

Cushley worst but not shortest. You are thinking of George. Andrew who played one game in 1966

George Cowie was one of the reasons that John Lyle allowed Scottie Houghton to leave, despite the appeals of senior players like Bonzo and Phil Parkes to keep him. Along with Dale Baton, Paul Allen, Allen Dickens and Bobby Barnes they were considered to be better prospects, despite Hougton's goal scoring record for the reserves.

Blimey I remember George Cowie. Was going to be the next big thing / Bobbby Moore mid 70s but never made it and disappeared.

Eddie B Since you are a fan of Christian Dailly, can you remember when your hero lost a tooth at Rotherham I think it was. At the end of the match he spent some time looking for it. My dentist managed to fix it back in for him and also made two gum shields for him, one claret and blue, and the other blue and white for his games for Scotland.
